Creamy Salted Caramel Cold Brew with Vanilla Sweet Cream Foam

  • Author: Lilya
  • Total Time: 12 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

An indulgent, make-ahead cold brew coffee drink topped with a velvety vanilla sweet cream foam and a hint of sea salt. It offers a restaurant-quality experience at home with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 1 cup ice cubes (large cubes preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons maple syrup or caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (very cold)
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • Optional: Caramel drizzle, whipped cream dollop, coffee beans for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew the cold brew: Combine 1 cup coarse-ground coffee with 4 cups cold water in a jar or pitcher. Stir gently, cover, and refrigerate for 12-24 hours.
  2. Strain the coffee: Pour the mixture through a coffee filter or fine-mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth. Discard grounds. You should have about 2 cups of concentrate. Store in the fridge.
  3. Prepare the foam: In a small bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  4. Whip the foam: Use an electric frother or whisk to beat the mixture until thickened but still pourable (like heavy syrup). Do not over-whip to stiff peaks.
  5. Assemble the drink: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour in 1/2 cup of cold brew concentrate.
  6. Sweeten: Add 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or caramel sauce to the glass and stir gently.
  7. Top with foam: Slowly pour the vanilla sweet cream foam over the back of a spoon onto the coffee surface to create a layered effect.
  8. Garnish and serve: Drizzle with extra caramel if desired. Serve immediately while cold.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients, especially the cream, are very cold for best results. Do not over-whip the cream foam or it will turn into butter. Use flaky sea salt for texture and flavor bursts. Cold brew concentrate can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. The sweet cream foam is best made fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
