  • Author: Lilya
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and healthy weeknight dinner featuring flaky white fish and golden potato wedges cooked in an air fryer for a crispy texture without the grease of traditional frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds (680g) white fish fillets (Cod or Haddock)
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk or buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika recommended)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Avocado oil or olive oil spray
  • 2 large Russet potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pickles
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Pinch of dill
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat fish fillets completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Whisk eggs and milk together in a bowl.
  4. Mix flour with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a shallow bowl.
  5. Dip fish fillets into the egg wash, then press firmly into the seasoned flour to coat both sides. Shake off excess flour.
  6. Cut potatoes into thick wedges and toss with 1 tablespoon of oil and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  7. Place potato wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Cook chips at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through until golden and crispy.
  9. Remove chips and keep warm.
  10. Line the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper.
  11. Place coated fish fillets in the basket in a single layer without overlapping.
  12. Spray fish tops lightly with oil spray.
  13. Cook fish at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until opaque and flaky.
  14. Let fish rest for 2 minutes before serving.
  15. Serve immediately with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.

Notes

Ensure fish is patted very dry to achieve crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. For gluten-free, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Tartar sauce can be made by mixing mayonnaise, chopped pickles, lemon juice, and dill.
