Description
These fudgy mint chocolate brownies combine rich, dense chocolate with a cool minty kick in an easy 5-step recipe perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g)
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour (95g)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (115g)
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips (90g)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal, or grease well if no parchment is available.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt until smooth and lump-free.
- In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and shiny.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and gently fold together with a rubber spatula until no flour streaks remain. Fold in finely chopped fresh mint leaves and optional chocolate chips.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep brownies fudgy; remove when toothpick has moist crumbs. Use fresh mint for best flavor. Let brownies cool completely before slicing for clean cuts. Optional: sprinkle chopped mint on top before baking for extra minty flavor and decoration. Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days or refrigerate up to 5 days. Avoid freezing to preserve mint flavor and texture.
