Description
A cafe-quality iced latte made by shaking espresso, brown sugar, cinnamon, and oat milk with ice. This method creates a rich, velvety foam and deep flavor in just 5 minutes without needing an espresso machine.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots espresso (60ml) or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (25g)
- 1 cup oat milk (240ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)
Instructions
- Brew espresso or strong coffee. If using drip coffee, brew it double-strength.
- Pour the hot coffee into a cocktail shaker or mason jar.
- Add brown sugar and cinnamon to the hot coffee and stir briefly to help dissolve the sugar.
- Add oat milk and ice cubes to the shaker.
- Secure the lid tightly.
- Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the mixture is chilled and frothy.
- Fill a serving glass with fresh ice cubes.
- Strain the shaken coffee mixture over the ice in the glass.
- Garnish with a dusting of cinnamon and serve immediately.
Notes
Use hot coffee to ensure the brown sugar dissolves completely. If using cold brew, make a simple syrup with the brown sugar first. Shake hard to create micro-foam. For best results, use ‘Barista Edition’ oat milk which froths better. Do not reheat this drink as it is intended to be served cold.
