Who Runs Platelyn?

Platelyn is a personal food blog run by Lilya. I’m your kitchen cheerleader, sharing recipes and cooking tips for home cooks and food lovers across the United States.

What Information Do I Collect?

  • Email Address: If you sign up for my newsletter, I collect your email so I can send you updates, recipes, and kitchen inspiration.
  • Comments: When you leave a comment, you may share your name and email. This helps me connect with you and keep the conversation friendly.
  • Website Analytics: I use Google Analytics to understand how people use Platelyn. This includes things like which pages you visit, how long you stay, and what device you use. Google Analytics collects data like IP addresses, browser type, and referring URLs, but I never use this to personally identify you.

How Do I Use Your Information?

  • To send you my newsletter if you’ve signed up.
  • To respond to your comments or questions.
  • To improve the website and make your experience better.
  • To keep Platelyn safe and running smoothly.

Do I Share Your Information?

Nope! I don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only time your info might be shared is:

  • With trusted service providers (like my email newsletter platform or Google Analytics) who help me run the site. They only use your info as needed to provide their services.
  • If required by law or to protect the site and its users.

Cookies & Tracking

Platelyn uses cookies (small files stored on your device) to make the site work and help me understand how you use it. Cookies help remember your preferences, keep you logged in for comments, and let Google Analytics do its thing. You can clear or block cookies anytime in your browser settings.

Your Rights Under CCPA

If you live in California, you have special rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: You can ask what personal info I have about you and how it’s used.
  • Right to Delete: You can ask me to delete your info.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You can ask me not to sell your info (I don’t sell info, but you can still ask).
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: I won’t treat you differently if you exercise your rights.

To use these rights, just email me at [email protected] or visit the contact page. I’ll respond within 45 days.

Children’s Privacy

Platelyn is for grown-ups and teens who love cooking. I don’t knowingly collect info from kids under 13. If you think your child has shared info here, let me know and I’ll remove it right away.

Newsletter Subscription

If you sign up for my newsletter, your email is used only to send you updates and recipes. You can unsubscribe anytime—just click the link at the bottom of any email or email me at [email protected].

Comment Section

When you leave a comment, your name and email are stored so I can reply and keep the conversation friendly. Your email is never shown publicly. If you want your comment or info removed, just ask!
