Description
A rich, no-bake dessert featuring layers of Oreos, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream. This easy-to-make cake requires minimal active time and is perfect for summer parties or hot days when you don’t want to use the oven.
Ingredients
- 24–28 Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (Oreos), approx. 450g
- 2 cups (480ml) Heavy Whipping Cream, cold
- ¼ cup (50g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 boxes (approx. 176g total) Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
- 4 cups (960ml) Whole Milk, cold
- ½ cup (120ml) Chocolate Syrup or Hot Fudge
- Optional: Extra Oreos, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Shavings, Strawberries
Instructions
- Chill heavy cream, mixing bowl, and beaters in the freezer for 10 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk instant chocolate pudding mix and cold whole milk vigorously for 2 minutes until thick and smooth. Set aside.
- Pour cold heavy cream into the chilled bowl. Add sugar and vanilla extract. Whip on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form (about 3-4 minutes). Do not over-whip.
- Arrange a single layer of whole Oreos (8-10 cookies) at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon half of the chocolate pudding over the cookie layer and spread evenly to the edges.
- Spoon half of the whipped cream over the pudding and spread evenly.
- Drizzle half of the chocolate syrup over the whipped cream in a zigzag pattern.
- Repeat layers: add another layer of cookies, remaining pudding, remaining whipped cream, and remaining chocolate syrup.
- Top with extra cookies or garnish if desired. Cover tightly with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until cookies are soft and layers are set.
- Slice with a sharp knife and serve cold.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients, especially the heavy cream and bowl, are very cold for best whipping results. Use full-fat milk and cream for the proper texture; low-fat versions will result in a watery cake. This dessert is best made the night before to allow flavors to meld and cookies to soften. Do not freeze, as the texture of the whipped cream and pudding will become grainy upon thawing.
